World Disabled Day: Kebbi Govt. Empowers 20 PWD, Donates Gash Grant to 150

To mark the World Day for People with living with Disability, Kebbi State Government, has empowered twenty (20) persons living with disability (PWD) with tricycle while One hundred and fifty (150) with cash grant of 1.7 million naira.

Speaking on the occasion, the State Commissioner for Special Duties, Alhaji Zayyanu Umar Aliero, said the present administration has placed special attention to transforming the lives of people with Disability in the state.

The commissioner said, the gesture was meant to facilitate ways for them to stand on their feet, assuring that government would continue to assist the vulnerable people in the society.

“We have empowered 110 people with N10,000 each, 40 people with N15,000 each while 20 people get tricycle each all with a view to making them self reliance.”

He urged the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by supporting government’s policies and programmes and sustain prayers for the present administration to take the state to the next level of development.

Also, the State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed-BK, observed that, the gesture was very critical in transforming the livelihood of PWD in the state.

He therefore encouraged them to make judicious use of what he described as unique opportunity to change their lives for the better.
