Kano LG Ministry Submits 2024 Budget of Over 360 Billion

Kano state house of assembly (KNHA), has recieved a correspondence, on the 44 local governments 2024 appropriation bill of over 360 Billion naira.

Reading the letter during plenary,the speaker Alhaji Jibril Isma’il Falgore pointed out that, the ministry had set aside 49% as capital cost, 31% personnel cost and 20% as over head cost.

He stressed that,the local governments would appear before the house next Wednesday for budget defence.

Similarly KNHA, has adopted a report in respect of 2023 supplementary appropriation bill number 2.

Presenting the report, Chairman house standing committee on appropriation, Alhaji Aminu Sa’adu Ungoggo pointed out that,the 11 member committee has recommended the passage of the supplementary budget of 24 billion naira, to enable the state government pay death benefits and gratuity of retired civil servants, completion of the state’s independent power project, among others.

In another development,Kano state house of assembly has urged relevant security agencies, hisbah and coalition of ulamas, to summon Baffa Hotoro over unguarded utterances regarding Tudun Biri, accidental bombing.

This was sequel, to a motion of urgent public importance moved by member representing Kiru constituency Usman Tasi’u supported by the lawmakers.

According to him, a viral vedio of a man referred to as Sheikh Baffa Hotoro, trended on t social media making unethical comments, about victims and survivors of Tudun Biri tragedy,capable of inciting public violence.

Alhaji Usman pointed out that,the department of security service (DSS),the Nigerian police force,hisbah and coalition of ulamas, should summon Baffa to pay for his action.

The lawmaker explained that,the Kano state house of assembly commiserates with the community,family, people and government of Kaduna state, over the unfortunate incident.

After careful deliberations, the house unanimously adopted a resolution and called on the DSS, police,hisbah and coalition of ulamas to do everything possible in maintaining Kano peaceful atmosphere.
