INEC Set To Conduct Bye, Re-run Elections in Kebbi

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, says, all arrangements have been concluded by the commission to conduct bye and re-run elections on 3rd Febuary 2024 in Kebbi State.

The Kebbi State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Alhaji Abubakar Dembo Sarkin Pawa disclosed this to Journalist in Birnin Kebbi.

Dembo said bye election would be conducted in Yauri, Ngaski and Shanga federal constituency while Court Order for the Re-run election in 25 polling units in Arewa and Dandi local government areas of the state.

He said, the commission had made adequte publicity in regard to all items required for politicians to see and the electorates.

Sarkin Pawa revealed that, the commission has also received non-sensitive materials as well commenced the training of the trainees so that they in turn move to various centers to train the trainees.

According to the REC, the commission has conducted a meeting with the security agencies concern to ensure hitch free election and as well with the IPAC and the leadership of the 18 political parties to ensure free, fair and credible election in the affected areas.

“We don’t want to envisage that, we don’t even want to listen to that, that there will be late arrival of materials, we hope there will be non late arrival. As i told you earlier we have received all non sensitive materials and they have been distributed forwarded to the affected local government, so we dont envisage late arrival,”

On the Issue of the BVAS, the REC, explains that, they have been configured and there will be no network failure and the there will be live transmision by the commission.
