The Kano state ministry ministry of environment has expressed it dismay on the state of environmental sanitation at school of technology, Kano state polytechnic saying Kano line motor park is more clean than the school.
The ministry has also given two weeks abatement notice to the management of the school to clean their environment or action will taken against them.
The state Commissioner for environment and climate change Alhaji Nasiru Garo disclosed this while briefing journalist shortly after monthly environmental sanitation for markets, Abatoirs, business premises and government establishment held in Kano on Friday.
According to the Commissioner the school was found to be dirty and that all efforts need to be put in place to ensure maximum sanitation in and around the school.
“Unfortunately, the school were we are breading our leaders, people are coming here to seek knowledge and be leaders of tommorow, if you look at the school you will see that even the motor (Kano line) we visited is more clean than the school, and in terms of toilet, their is no much difference we see in toilet at motor park and that of this school,” said Garo.
“So we want called on the management of this school to gear-up and be up and doing so as to have more clean environment, and in terms of toilet, this mordern toilet can not be used without adquate water, so I am calling on the management of this school to provide water so that people will be using the toilet conpertabily,” Garo said.

The commissioner assured that the state government will not hesitate to sanctioned anybody found defaulting monthly environmental sanitation excercise, adding that the ministry official will revisit the school to ensure maximum compliance.
Nasiru Garo then urged the people in the state to use saturday monthly environmental sanitation excercise period to ensure the cleanens of their environment, toilet and drainages.
