Kano Re-run: YPP Accuses NNPP, APC of Election Violence in Kunchi/Tsanyawa

The Young Progressives Party (YPP) has accused the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP) and the All Progressive Congress (APC) of hiring thugs to attack voters at the just suspended Kunchi/Tsanyawa state assembly re-run Election.

The Kano state chairman of the YPP Salisu Umar disclosed this in an interview with GLOBAL TRACKER in Kano on Saturday.

“We are accessing the two leading political parties in Kano for this unrest and it was NNPP and APC who course all this destruction of ballots papers, scaring voters and INEC officials, it was their supporters and they should be hold accountable,” Salisu said.

According to him, it is disheartening to see how ballot boxes vandalized, INEC officials scared to run for their safety, reaching the level of which the electoral empire was forced to suspend the election.

He said NNPP and APC supporters was behind the unrest at Kunchi and Tsanyawa adding that “it was the political party who lack majority as the poling units that disrupted the election to their advantage.”

He then commended men of Nigeria Police for their efforts to normalize the situation which according to Salisu if not for their intervention things would get worse.
