Air Transport Resumes After 11 Months in Kebbi

The Kebbi State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engineer Abdullahi Umar Faruk, says, transport activities has resumed at the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport Ambursa, Birnin Kebbi to ease air transportation.

The Commissioner said, this followed an arrangement between Kebbi state and the airline NG Eagle that commenced first flight Wednesday from Abuja to Birnin Kebbi.

According to the Commissioner, Nasiru Idris led administration deem it feet for the people of the state to stop travelling to nearby state of Sokoto to board plane to Abuja considering Kebbi has an Airport with One of the best runway in the country.

“The agreement was that, the plane with the capacity of 160 passangers and scheduled three times weekly, the state government will make payment for Fifty seats if the passengers are not complete and if completed no payment will be made”.

Engineer Umar Faruk, stated that, Kebbi airport was among the 5 airports recently taken by the Federal Government and now has all equipments needed for Airport to function effectively.

He hoped that, the airline will keep to the agreement made for effective and efficient services withing the next three months for the government to made the agreement parmanently and to also invite more Airlines to operate.

The Commissioner, believed that, Kebbi people would make a trafic Jam at the airport on route to parts of the country.
