Kebbi Justice Ministry Records 853 Criminal Cases From June 2023 To Date

The Kebbi State Ministry of Justice, has recorded 853 Criminal cases, motions, bail application and Legal advice from the inception of the present administration in June last year to date.

The State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Junaidu Bello Marshall, stated this at the weekly Ministerial Press briefing organised by the State Ministry of Information and Culture.

The Commissioner, explained that, the Ministry is currently handing 80 Appeal cases pending before the state High Court of Justice as well 70 cases at the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.

According to the Commissioner, within the period under review, the Ministry had vetted more than 200 case diaries forwarded for Legal Advice from the relevant Law Enforcement Agencies, out of which few were terminate for want of evidence and mojority were advised to be prosecuted.

Dr. Bello Marshall, equally stated that, the Ministry had initiated the establishment of Justice Reform Team In the state through Sponsorship of an Executive Bill assented to by the state governor with a view to improving justice delivery to all in the state.

The Attorney General, highlighted more achivements of the Ministry under the present administration that includes, refubishing and supply of updated research materials for the ministry’s library, purchase of 40 new Laptops for Law officers as well subscription of Law Pavillion and Law Companion Application for the Law officers.
