The Kano State House of Assembly has urged the state government to renovate the Kura General Hospital and construct a diagnostic centre within the facility.
This was a sequel to deliberations on the floor of the house during plenary session presided over by the speaker Alhaji Jibril Isma’il Falgore.
Mover of the motion, who doubles as a member representing Kura and Garun Malam constituency Alhaji Zakariyya Ishaq Alhassan argued that, the general hospital was established many years ago.

He pointed out that, the emergency unit of the hospital is in a dilapidated condition, and lacks a diagnostic centre, laboratory, labour room, and other relevant sections.
After careful deliberations, the House adopted a resolution and called on the state government to expedite action on the renovation and provision of a diagnostic center at Kura General Hospital.
In another development, the house has called on the state government to establish part of a college of education and preliminary studies in the Minjibir local government area.
In a motion moved by a member representing Minjibir Alhaji Abdul Abdulhamid Minjibir supported by the lawmakers.

He argued that students from the community encountered hardship and had to travel long distances to access NCE in other tertiary institutions.
Other resolutions passed by the house include the provision of electricity in some parts of the Karaye local government area, as well as road construction in the Dambatta local government area.
The house adjourned its sitting to the next day in a motion moved by the majority leader Lawan Hussaini Dala.
