Zamfara Islamic Scholar Urges Muslims to Pray for Peace During Ramadan

An Islamic cleric and Former Commissioner for religious affairs in Zamfara State, Dr Muhammad Tukur Sani Jangebe has condemned the recent killing of Imam Abubakar Hassan Mada and called for a thorough investigation into the deadly act.

Dr Tukur Jangebe made the call in an interview with newsmen in Gusau the state capital.

He described the killing of religious leaders like Imam Abubakar Hassan Mada as un-Islamic and barbaric, adding that this will not yield positive results for the entire Muslim community.

Dr Tukur also called on governments, and security agencies to strategies more effort to fish out the perpetrators of such acts and face the wrath of the law to serve as a deterrent to others.

He also condoles the immediate families of the deceased, JIBWIS Zamfara State, and the national body under the leadership of its National Chairman, Sheik Abdullahi Bala Lau.

The former Commissioner also called on the entire Muslim Ummah to intensify prayers for peace and stability to prevail in Zamfara and the country in general.

In another development, as Ramadan Fasting is approaching, the Chief Imam also advised Muslims to use the period to assist the needy, especially with food items to ease their suffering during Ramadan.

He also uses the medium to inform the general public on the commencement of Ramadan Tafsir 2024 at Abubakar Abdulsalami 100 Housing Estate Bypass, Gusau in addition to usual Women Tafsir, they also intend this year to extend to that of Men.

According to him, the changes are a result of his earlier decision to resign as Chief Imam of the Muslims Foundation GRA Jumu’at Mosque, last year where the annual men’s Tafsir is usually delivered.
