The Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has appointed Omobayo Marvellous Godwins, a 38-year-old Engineer, as his Deputy after the state House of Assembly impeached former deputy governor Philip Shuaibu.
Omobayo’s inauguration is also set to take place on Monday at the Edo State Government House in Benin City after his screening by the House of Assembly.
Already, friends and well-wishers have gathered at the inauguration venue for the swearing-in ceremony.

Recalled earlier today that the State House of Assembly announced the impeachment after the conclusion of the sitting on Friday.
Shaibu had shunned the sitting, explaining that the case was in court.
On Thursday, the panel headed by Justice S.A Omonuwa (retd.) issued Shaibu a last chance to appear the following day, to defend why he should not be impeached but the embattled Shuaibu declined.
