His eminence the Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Saad Abubakar has declared Wednesday 10th April 2024 1445AH as the first day of SHAWWAL 1445AH.
In a statement signed by the chairman Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs Sultanate Council Sokoto professor Sambo Wali Junaidu says the Sultanate together with the National Moon Sighting Committee across the country did not receive any report confirming the sighting of the new crescent SHAWWAL today Monday the 8th of April 2024 equivalent to Islamic calendar 29th Day of RAMADAN.

The statement added that tomorrow the 9th of April 2024 is the thirtieth of RAMADAN and Wednesday shall be the idilfitir sallah day.
