In an electrifying match on Matchday 31 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Kano Pillars showcased a masterful performance as they thrashed Gombe Utd 4-0 at the iconic Sani Abacha Stadium.
The highlight of the game was the exceptional display by NPFL Legend and Captain of Kano Pillars, Rabiu Ali, who was named the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Pop Cola Man of the Match MVP for his exemplary performance on the field.
The match kicked off with Pillars taking an early lead, with Mustapha Ibrahim netting the first goal at the 9th-minute mark.

ARabiu Ali then stepped up and scored two brilliant goals at the 30th and 45+1 minutes, solidifying Pillars’ dominance in the first half.
The scoring continued in the second half, with Mustapha Umar sealing the victory with a goal in the 77th minute, bringing the final score to 4-0 in favor of Kano Pillars.
Following this impressive win, Kano Pillars have climbed to the 8th position in the league standings with 44 points. Their next challenge awaits as they gear up to face Akwa Utd in the upcoming Matchday 32.
Rabiu Ali Pele expressed his gratitude for being honored with the SWAN Kano and Pop Cola MVP Award, acknowledging the support from both fans and sponsors.
