The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, has described Culture as a means of socital development that bring peace and harmony amongst ethnic communities.
The Governor appealed to the people of Kebbi South to sustain and maintain their cultural heritage in ensuring peaceful coexistence to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
Governor Idris, stated this at the final grand ceremony of annual Zuru Uhola Cultural Festival and Agricultural Show held in Zuru town, Zuru Local Government Area of the state on Saturday.

He said the call was necessary in view of the fact that it would aid him to execute projects that have direct bearing to the lives of the common people in the area, while citing an example of reconstruction of the delapidated Koko-Dabai road.
The Governor suspected that, some people are playing polítice with the construction of Koko to Dabai road which he knew is a Federal Government road, “I wrote severally for the revocation of the road project initially awarded but still awaiting response from the federal government for the state to execute the project.
While applauding the organisers of Zuru 2024 Uhola Cultural Festival and Agricultural Show, Governor Idris said, his administration was ready to promote diversification in tourism and cultural heritage for economic development of the state as well continue to beef up security to enable the people return to thier farms and normal businesses.
“I do spend millions of Naira every month on security, I want to protect lives and property of my people, I promised to ensure that security challenges in the state is reduced to the barest minimum. Therefore, I need people’s support and cooperation in achieving the noble objectives,” he said.
The Emir of Zuru, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Sani Sami (rtd), thanked Governor for supporting the occasion saying, this year’s festival is unique, which showcased so many cultural heritage and it was a colourful and successful festival.
