BREAKING: Hong Kong Court Bans Protest Song ‘Glory to Hong Kong’

The Appeal Court in the special administrative region of the People’s Republic of China, the Hong Kong has banned use of songs ‘Glory to Hong Kong’ in public places and anywhere in the region.

“Glory to Hong Kong”, a protest song that emerged during the city’s massive democracy demonstrations in 2019, has come the first song to be banned since the former British colony was handed over to China in 1997.

In recent years, the region have experienced a series of protest against president John Lee Ka-chiu and his government, as protesters calls for their resignation over their too much loyalty to China.

But, analyst believed that the protest was perhaps sponsored by the west and anti-chinese Communist Party.

Meanwhile, China says Hong Kong protest song ban ‘necessary measure’.

China’s foreign ministry has said: “Stopping anyone from employing or disseminating the relevant song is a legitimate and necessary measure by (Hong Kong) to fulfil its responsibility of safeguarding national security.”
