Two Boko Haram fighters  Surrender to Nigerian Troops

Atleast two fighters of  the Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād otherwise known as Boko Haram, Awana Malam Kurama and Tahir Isa have surrendered to the troops of Operation Hadin Kai in the North East of Borno state.

A security analyst and counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region and west Africa Zagazola Makama disclosed this in post on his verified social media handle X formerly Twitter.

According to Makama, the two insurgents surrendered troops of 21 armored Brigade Bama after fleeing their camp in Bahrain village in Sambisa Forest on May 8, 2024.

Intelligence sources informed Zagazola Makama, that the terrorists surrendered with 1Ak 47 rifle, containing 10 refined rounds of 7.62MM Special Ammunition, 2 bicycles and N29,000 cash only.

The two surrendered fighters are currently in the military custody for profiling.
