26 CBOs Ready to Complement Govt’s Efforts in Fighting Tuberculosis, AIDS in Kano — ACOMIN SPO

The Civil Society in Malaria Control Immunization and Nutrition (ACOMIN) says it has engaged the services of 26 Community Based Organizations (CBOs) in complementing the state government efforts in Fighting Tuberculosis, HIV & AIDS, Malaria and other communicable diseases in some local government areas in the state.

ACOMIN’s Kano state program officer Malam Sharif Abubakar disclosed this at a day-two training sessions of the CBOs and Community Led Monitoring (CLM) on the Grant Cycle Seven (GC-7) held in Kano on Thursday.

According to him, the CBOs and CLM were trained on their responsibilities including how to engage with stakeholders, health officials, patients and community members for effective service delivery at different health facilities across Kano state.

He said the two-day session which covered only newly engage CBOs centered on training the participants the full operations of ACOMIN and how to work with the community and health facilities official so as to achieved the set objectives.

He then urged participants to work as a team and sought for clearances in case of any eventuality.

“Our main aims is for the CBOs to learn the job, know how ACOMIN operates, Know the does and don’t in it, so that at the end of the day we will have a successful take off of the Grant,” said Malam Sharif.

The program officer then assured Kano state government of ACOMIN’s commitment in complementing her efforts so that the set targets will be achieved.

In an interview with GLOBAL TRACKER, one of the Trained CBO Hasiya Idris Wuro Foundation (HIWFO) assured their commitment on creating awareness on the improvements of health out come and resolve issues in Health facilities at Tarauni Local government area and by extension the state at large.

HIWFO through her Program Officer Hafsat Musa solicit for stakeholders, traditional leaders and Community members to achieve their targets.
