KPC Solicits for President Tinubu’s Intervention Over Kano Emirship Tussle

The Kano Peace Committee (KPC) have urged president Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene in the ongoing Emirship tussled at Kano state emirate council.

The Co-chair and convener/ head of Secretariat of the KPC Rev. Bishop Dr. John Namaza Niyiring and Ibrahim Waiya disclosed this in a copy of letter sent to the chairman of National Peace Committee General Abdussalami Abubakar which was sent to GLOBAL TRACKER in Kano on Monday.

According to the letter, KPC is deeply concerned on the current happening in the emirate council sequel to the dissolution of four emirate council and the reinstatement of his Highness Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II by Kano state government.

The letter reads in parts “we have been keenly observing the situation, and it is our adamant belief that the development is generating an unprecedented twist and is apparently constituting a bad omen for Kano State and the good people of the State.

“We are of the opinion that this kind of sensitive matter ought to be treated with utmost caution and urgently, especially as the rumors suggest that, the return of His Highness, Alh. Aminu Ado Bayero to Kano State, after the dethronement of the five emirates were announced, is allegedly linked to the support of some elements in the Federal Government.

“Therefore, should there be a breakdown of law and order, the collateral damage may turn bloody and anarchy.

“It is against this backdrop, we write to invite the esteemed leadership and membership of the National Peace Committee, to take interest into what is happening in Kano, and to use your persuading power to prevail on president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to intervene in the situation before its takes another turn.

“The Kano Peace Committee (KPC), has been closely engaging relevant stakeholders particularly the vulnerable youths to ensure that they do not get swayed by the anti – peace elements to cause mayhem in the State.
