Youth Protest Suspension of Eight Members at Zamfara State Assembly

Hundred of Youths have staged a peaceful protest in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital over non reprensenation of their areas in the state house of assembly.

In an interview with newsmen shortly after the protest, the leader of the protesters, Malam Abdullahi Saifullahi said, their eight members were suspended by the Zamfara State house of assembly under the leadership of Bilyaminu Ismail Moriki which they described as unconditional and undemocratic.

Saifullahi further explain that, the members are from eight local government areas of the state which to include, Bungudu, Bukkuyum, Bakura, Gummi, Maradun, Maru
Tsafe, and Talata Mafara local government areas of the state.

According to him, the law markers were suspended about four months over their attempt to impeach the speaker of the house, Bilyaminu Ismail Moriki

They added that, their eight members were suspended for the last four months, stressing that their constituencies have been left behind for the period under review.

The group therefore called on governor Dauda Lawal to intervene on the matter for the reinstatement of their suspended members to enable them to have reprensenation in the state assembly.
