Rising Insecurity in The North: Group Submits Blueprint To President Tinubu

The Northern Coalition Group, CNG, has in the wake of persistent Insecurity bedeviling the Region, submitted a Blueprints to President Tinubu containing strategies on how to tackle the menace.

This is even as the Coalition linked Lacks of understanding and agreement between the Federal Government and the State Governments in the War against Banditry pameating the region as the major reasons why the problems could not be easily tackled.

Speaking during at a Stakeholders Engagement on Security in Northern Nigeria, with a theme, “changing the narratives of Insecurity in Northern Nigeria”, between the CNG, Artist’s, Social Media Influencers and Bloggers in promoting Peace and Security in the Region, the Group chairman Board of Trustees (BOT) Dr. Nastura Ashir Shariff, lamented that, “today there is serious lack of synergy between Air force and the Military, between Police and DSS and between Federal Government and State Governments in the fight against Insecurity”.

“This disagreement and lack of synergy between Air force and the Military, sometimes ago resulted in the death of over 300 People in Zamfara State, because when the infantry wanted to attack they informed the Air force for a collaborative mission but because of disagreement already these number of innocent lives were killed”.

Dr. Nastura Ashir Shariff, notes that because of this problems they have met with all the Military Generals, Top Security Agencies, and all other Stakeholders, “we thank God that at last we have made considerable inroads in solving the problems and already we have presented a Blueprints to the President Tinubu on how to tackle the menace”.

“Similarly, our Investigation shows that Citizens were not involved in the fight against Insecurity in the Region and we have sat down with all the Northern Governor’s and we informed them about the real problems they have with regards the problems of Insecurity in the Region”.

He added, “and all the Governor’s have agreed to set up a reconciliation committee that will pacify their Citizens and settled whatever grievances between them and than the Federal Government have agreed to be actively and fully involved in the resettlements of Citizens who fled their homes because of Insecurity”.

Nastura hints that their understanding with the problems was that, the War against Bandits, Kidnappers and Boko Haram are been prosecutes without coherent strategies on how to do everything, that is why the issues of Kinetic measures and non kinetic approaches should be given serious attention.

Speaking the Chairman of the occasion and a Retired Assistant Director General of DSS, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmad Katsina, lamented that the North is facing the existential threats of been extinct with barrage of Socal vices rocking it, be it Drugs, Insecurity, Youths restiveness, Banditry, Kidnapping and Political Thuggery among others.

He said today in each of the Northern States they are having one social vices or the other, “that is why the needs for a new strategy and approach in the fight against Social Vices should be adopted.”
