The reinstated Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi (II) is expected to lead the two rakat Friday prayers today at the Emir’s palace Juma’at mosque.

This was announced in a statement signed by Danburan Kano, on Thursday.

Report says that since the reinstatement of Muhammadu Sanusi as Emir of Kano and the dethronement of Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero with the dissolution of the five emirates last Thursday by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf after the signing of the new Kano Emirate Law 2024, there has been conflicting court orders.

A court order issued by a Federal High Court sitting in Kano had stopped the reinstatement with another from a State High Court restraining Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero from parading as Emir of Kano and his eviction from his Nasarawa palace on State Road.

Subsequently, another court order restrained Muhammadu Sanusi from parading himself as Emir of Kano and ordered his eviction from the Emir’s palace while another court stopped the action.

With these conflicting court orders, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kayode Ariwoola summoned the head of the Federal High high Court and Kano Chief Judge.

The statement issued by Danburan Kano invites residents to come and listen to the sermon to be delivered by Muhammadu Sanusi (II).
