BREAKING: Bomb Attack Killed 8 People in Somalia

At least eight (8) people have been confirmed dead while others sustained various degrees of injuries following suicide bomb attack in Somalian capital Mogadishu.

The attack which involved an explosion and gunfire occurred at beach hotel, Lido in the capital.

Reports say the number of casualties may rise as many sustained various degrees of deadly injuries.

The al-Qaida-linked al-Shabab group claimed responsibility for the attack. The group has been involved in previous attacks in Somalia, targeting government and civilian targets.

Somalian armed forces responded to the attack, and the situation is under control. The government has condemned the attack and expressed condolences to the families of the victims.

GLOBAL TRACKER learned that the attack is part of a series of violent acts carried out by al-Shabab in Mogadishu and across Somalia, as the government continues its offensive against the militants.
