Kano ACOMIN Visit Wudil District Head, Indabo PHC, Solicit for Improve Health Care Delivery

The civil society in Malaria Control, Immunization and Nutrition (ACOMIN) has visited the district head of Wudil local government area of Kano state as part of the state advocacy visitation to stakeholders, community leaders and traditional rulers on the need to improve healthcare centers for effective service delivery.

The ACOMIN state program officer Malam Sharif Abubakar said the visit is aimed at engaging all stakeholders to contribute their quota in safeguarding public health.

“We are at Wudil to re-build on the existing relationship, to seek for more support and to table some issues including the needs for construction of drainage at Wudil kofar Fada health post,” said Sharif.

“During our visit, we also meet the in charge at the hospital and urged him to contribute his part on sensitizing the public on the need of taking ownership of their health facilities, we discussed with them and they have promised on it,” he said.

The program officer then urged members of the public, politicians, traditional rulers and health facilitators to contribute funding to health sector especially during raining season as its a peak period for Malaria cases nationwide.

In a remark, the district head of Wudil Alhaji Sarki Ibrahim, “Makaman Kano” described ACOMIN as partners in progress, and said the engagement comes at a time when it was needed most.

Sarki Ibrahim represented by Alhaji Haruna Ibrahim, the “Mukaddas din Makaman Kano” said the office of the district head have been engaging the house of representatives member representing Wudil/Garko federal constituency on the need of expanding the health post and the development has already started.

“We have already told the member on the need to expand the hospital including the buying of three neighbouring houses and convert them to staff quoters, he has agreed on it and as I am speaking to now, the work has already started,” said Makaman Kano.

Meanwhile, the state program officer has visited Indabo primary health care also in Wudil local government area of Kano state for a supervision of Client Exist Interview (CEI) conducted by Grass root development initiatives.

The program officer appreciate the good working conditions at the hospital and urged stakeholders especially in Indabo community to continue supporting health facilities on the efforts to safeguard public health.
