Kano LG Election: We’ll Complement Our ForeFather’s Legacies in Garko — Imran Lawan Tanko

Imran Lawan Tanko, the son of one of the renowned politician in Kano south senatorial district in Kano state Late Alhaji Lawan Tanko Garko has declared his intension to run for the Garko local government chairmanship in the scheduled November local government election in the state.

Imran Lawan made the declaration shortly after visiting Kano state commissioner for Tourism and culture Hajiya Ladidi Garko, the leading political figure from the Kwankwasiyya movement in the area.

According to Lawan Tanko, his movement is aimed in complementing his father’s legacies on job creation, boosting agricultural activities been one of the leading local government in food productions as well as construction of minor roads and other infrastructural activities in the area.

“My father Alhaji Lawan Tanko has been in active politics and staunch follower of Kwankwasiyya movement, we followed his foot step, he has done a lots of developmental projects in Garko, so that why we want also come on board to continue from were he stopped,” said Imran.

“People of age in Garko is aware of my father’s legacies, people of age is aware of Alhaji Mansur Musa Garko’s legacies, the former chairman of Garko who happened to be my father’s friends, both the two have died, so we want continue from were they stopped, they are very respected people in Garko, they are good people, my father is known for Kwankwasiyya ideology and a close friend to Our mentor Engineer Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, both are good people and we will continue and do more for what they have done to Garko and Kano state by extension,” added Lawan.

He then urged all New Nigeria People Party (NNPP) supporters to join hands and work together as a family to achieved the set objectives.
