Kebbi LG Election: KESIEC Commences Distribution of Sensitive Materials

The Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission (KESIEC), has commenced the distribution of sensitive materials ahead of tomorrow Saturday’s local government elections in the state.

The distribution exercise which is taking place at the state Command of the Nigeria Police witnessed the presence of executives of the Inter Party Advisory Council IPAC, and some political party leaders.

Speaking to newsmen, the Commissioner for Information and Communication of the commission, Muhammad Kaura Danhakimi, said the commission was satisfied with the materials and would be distributed to the twenty one local government areas to ensure election takes place early on Saturday.

He also assured those displaced by the recent flood in the state that arrangements have been put in place for them to vote.

He however solicited for the support and cooperation of stakeholders particularly the media and the security to ensure success of the elections.

The Chairman, Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) Ibrahim Mohammed, expressed satisfaction with the sensitive materials and the distribution saying, we reason with withdrawal of the opposition party PDP from the contest.

Seventeen out of eighteen political parties are to participate in tomorrow Saturday’s local government elections as the leading opposition People Democratic Party (PDP) withdraw from the race two weeks ago.
