The Executive governor of Kano state Alhaji Abba Kabiru Yusuf has ordered the immediate revocation of the Garko Local Government five-kilometer road project due to the contractor’s failure to mobilize to the site.
The director public relations and enlightenment Kano state government house disclosed this in a statement sent to journalist in Kano on Monday.
According to the statement, the governor assured that a new, reliable contractor would be appointed within a few days to ensure the project’s timely completion.
The Governor also expressed commitment to establishing a modern health facility in Garko town, aimed at bringing healthcare services closer to the people.
He expressed his gratitude for the continued support from the local community and reiterated his administration’s determination to maintain the momentum of progress.
Meanwhile, the Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, conducted an on-site assessment of the Kafinchiri Irrigation Project in Garko, a key initiative under the state’s agricultural transformation drive.
The project, valued at N2.5 billion, is aimed at bolstering year-round farming, enhancing food security, and driving economic growth in the state.
Yusuf emphasized the significance of the Kafinchiri Irrigation Project, highlighting it as a vital component of his administration’s efforts to promote continuous agricultural production in Kano State.
He urged the residents of Garko and surrounding areas to take full advantage of the opportunities provided by the project to improve their socio-economic conditions and contribute to the state’s overall development.
