Vigilantee Group Arrest 2 Suspected Bandits In Kebbi

The Vigilantee Group of Nigeria (VGN), has arrested two suspected bandits at Janruwa Grazing Reserve in Kanya District of Danko Wasagu local government areas of Kebbi State.

The Chairman of the local government area, Hussaini Aliyu Bena, who stated this to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi, explained that, last Wednesday he received a call from the District Head of Kanya informing him about the arrest of the two suspected bandits by the Vigilantees patrolling in the area.

According to the Chairman, on received of the call, he rushed to the scene and directed that, the suspects should not be killed and to be handed over to the police after informing the State Commissioner of Police over the arrest.

Aliyu Bena stated that during the arrest, one of the Bandits was trying to escape but with the help of the public, he was arrested after which the Vigilantee shot at him but their guns failed to function.

While thanking the state government for its logistics support to security operatives, the Vigilantee and volunteers at the area, the Chairman assured continued support to the joint security team to ensure more peace in the area.

He however called on the people in the area to always report any suspected movement to the security operative in the area.

Meanwhile, Kebbi State Police Command confirmed the arrest through it’s public relations officer SP Nafiu Abubakar.
