Myanmar’s junta chief has asked for foreign aid after deadly and devastating floods inundated swathes of the conflict-ravaged country and displaced more than 235,000 people.
The state media said on Saturday the request comes after Typhoon Yagi caused massive flooding and landslides in Myanmar and neighboring countries, resulting in almost 300 deaths.
This comes as thousands of people endured three years of war and displacement.
