The Lebanese Shia Islamist political party and paramilitary group “Hezbollah” has vowed to revenge the pager’s cyberattack which exploded simultaneously killing 9 members of the group in Lebanon and Syria.
The group has accused Israel intelligence agency Mossad with the help of United States for orchestrating the attack and assured that Tel Aviv will pay the price.
“Israel has hacked Hezbollah communication devices all across Lebanon, causing their batteries to explode,” war monitoring journalist Megatron report citing different sources.
“Multiple injuries have so far been reported across Lebanon, including in Dahiye, Beirut,” he said.
“Some pagers carried by Hezbollah members abroad also exploded, like in Damascus, Syria
“There are hundreds of wounded in Lebanon, some critical.”
“Mossad planted a quantity of highly explosive PETN material on the pagers’ battery and detonated it by raising the temperature of the battery enough to detonate it – Sky News Arabia confirms.
“Explosives were introduced either directly into the pager manufacturing plant, or were allowed access during distribution to Lebanon,” it went further to say.
Reports say not a single member of Hezbollah’s military hierarchy was killed, of the 9 that lost their lives, mostly civilians.
“On the other hand, it raised the level of caution against technology in Lebanon to the maximum level.
The Lebanese Minister of health reports that at least 9 people were killed and 2,800 injured by the simultaneous explosions.
