The Kano State Independent Electoral Commission(KANSIEC) has described Nigeria Police Force as a tool to reckon with in any political dispensation.
The chairman of KANSIEC Professor Sani Lawal Malumfashi disclosed this while visiting zone-one of the Nigerian police, he described police operatives as the custodians of law and order as well as guarding democracy.
Professor Malumfashi stated that the police are the key players in providing security and protecting the process of election and maintain laws and orders in the society during and after the elections.

In a statement sent to GLOBAL TRACKER by director public relations and enlightenment of KANSIEC Bashir Habib Yahaya, the Chairman added that being Kano State as the most populous state in country with 44 local governments areas, 484 wards and 11222 polling units, certainly the police service in the state is needed.
In his remarks, the AIG Ali assured that his command is ever ready to give maximum support and cooperation to ensure success during and after the forthcoming local government election in the state .
He stated that his phone number is on 24 hours,the commission can assess him whenever the need arises and commended the commission chairman for displaying academic skills by giving vital information about Kano during his brief speech.
While appreciating the visit by the KANSIEC officials and noted that the visit is first of it kind by since his assumption to duty as AIG zone 1.
Highlights of the visit was the presentation of election guidelines and 2024 calendar to the AIG by Chairman of Commission.
