Kumbotso Community Celebrates World Peace Day in Kano

A Nigerian base NGO Peace Action for Rapid and Transformative Nigerian Early Response, Also known as PERTNER, in collaboration with Kumbotso community base interactive organisation has organised a joint community engagement to mark the occasion of world Peace day, as set by the United Nation to honour and uphold peace building in the international community.

In his welcome address, the chief host of the event and village head of Kumbotso town, Alhaji Aminu Iliyasu Abdulkadir has call on the participants and the citizens to embrace the culture of peace and unity through Observation, reporting and involving security personnel in all suspicious moves and activities.

Moreover, the Coordinator and partner of the project, Dr Mustapha Isiyaku, from Mumbayya House, emphasized the importance of peace from international level to local community, adding that peace is a priceless treasure that the society shouldn’t joke with it.

Other stakeholders presents in event includes Nigerian police force, representative of Kumbotso divisional police officer (DPO), ASP kabiru Muhammad Bebeji, and from Civil Defence, DO Kumbotso word ,SC Abubakar Mohammad and others from Hisbah, CBO’s Vigilant Group and youth Leaders.

A resident of Kumbotso Town, Aminu Auwalu express his optimism in the engagement, pointing out that there is a significant progress since the beginning community peace building structure under the supervision of Mercy Corps and PERTNER.
