Iran’s defence ministry has condemned what it called an “illegal and unjustified” expansion of the United States (US) sanctions targeting its oil industry following Tehran’s missile attack on Israel earlier this month.

The sanctions were first imposed in 1979 after radical students seized the American Embassy in Tehran and took hostages.

Unfortunately, in 2018, the United States withdrew from the JCPOA and reimposed sanctions on Iran’s oil industry.
