Dandume residents in Dandume local government area of Katsina state have successfully rescued four women and one child abducted by armed bandits.
A security tips, conflict, humanitarian and crisis journalist disclosed this in a statement posted on his verified social media handle X, formerly Twitter @DanKatsina50.
According to him, the bandits launched attack yesterday night at Dandume town abducting seven Women, two children and flee into the forest.

However, the bandits were confronted by courageous residents, and after hours of intense gunfire, the residents successfully rescued them.
He said one mobile police officer died on the process.
The post reads “Yesterday night, armed bandits launched an attack on Dandume town in Katsina State, abducting seven women and two children and fleeing into the forest. In a courageous response, residents pursued the bandits into the forest, where they unexpectedly confronted them.
“After hours of intense gunfire, the residents successfully rescued four women and one child.
“Sadly, during the fierce battle, one brave Mobile Police officer lost his life at the hands of the bandits.
“May the Almighty accept him as martyr, rescue all held captives by criminals and bring the end of this crisis in Nigeria.
