Court Orders Police to Investigates Alleged Adultery Against Tasleem Baba Nabegu, Jigawa Commissioner

A Kano state upper Shari’a court presided over by Ustaz Ibrahim Sarki Yola has ordered Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) zone one Kano to investigate alleged commission of adultery against One Tasleem Baba Nabegu and suspended Jigawa state commissioner of special duties, Auwal Danladi Sankara.

The order followed a “direct criminal complaint” against Tasleem Baba Nabegu as first dependent and Auwal Danladi Sankara as second dependent in the suit filed by one Nasiru Buba alleging that his wife (the first dependent) is having illicit affair with Auwal Danladi Sankara (the second dependent) which is against the Islamic laws.

Council to Buba, barrister Sa’idu Muhammad Tudu Wada Esq represented by barrister Haruna Magashi informed the court that on 17 October, 2024 first and second dependent was arrested by operatives of Kano state hisbah board in an uncompleted building belonging to second dependent at Lamido crescent in Nassarawa GRA on allegations of having illicit affair.

According to Magashi, the dua has made confessional statement for the committing of alleged crimes before Nassarawa local government hisbah board headquarters.

He then urged the court to ordered an independent investigation on the matter for possible prosecution.

Asked by the court for evidence to support their claims, the lawyer told the court that they are in possession of bank transfer transactions between Tasleem and Sankara, phone call records and messages, and confessional statement of the accused persons taken after their arrest.

On his part, council to first dependent barrister Rabi’u Shu’aibu Abdullahi told the court that his client is not against any investigations, adding that his name have been spoiled on social media on the said allegations which according to him is absolutely untrue.

“My client now living in her parents home as a result of maltreatment from her husband (Nasiru Buba), whenever their is misunderstanding between them he is in habitat of biting her, taking gun and shoot in the air because he is a drug addict,” Suleiman told the court.

“On the day of her arrest with the second dependent, she take a delivery of food to him because she own a restaurant at Lamido crescent, the place were they was arrested, and she was their for delivery of food,” barrister Suleiman told the court.

He continued “all these allegations is untrue, and it was ment for tarnishing her good reputation which will prevent her from getting married again if he divorce her.”

Also during the court proceedings, council to Sankara barrister Aliyu Usman Haji said his client has vehemently denied all the allegations, saying all these mischief was aim in tarnish his good name, family, business’s reputations.

“We also urged the court to order for open investigations into all these untrue allegations because my client was prosecuted on social media which led to his suspension from the commissionership,” said barrister Aliyu.

In his ruling, Ustaz Ibrahim Sarki Yola order AIG zone one Kano to investigate the matter thoroughly with out harassment or arrest of anybody and take it to any state high court for prosecution.
