The Kano state Independent Electoral Commission KANSIEC says six (6) political parties would participate in the scheduled Kano state local government elections in the state.
The chairman of KANSIEC Professor Sani Lawan Malumfashi disclosed this while briefing journalist on the ongoing preparation of the elections in the state.
According to him, the political parties are Action Alliance (AA), Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Accord, African Action Congress (AAC), National Rescue Movement (NRM) and the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP).

The chairman said the commission is ready to conduct a hitch-free and peaceful elections across the 44 Local Government Areas of the State.
The commission also warned against illegal activities in and around the corridors of polling units – actions including vote buying, underage voting and bribing officials of the commission in any guise.
Meanwhile, the Kano state high court has ordered the State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) to proceed with the conduct of local government election scheduled for Saturday.
The presiding judge, Justice Sanusi Ma’aji gave the order in a matter filed by the state independent electoral commission against All Progressives Congress (APC) and 13 others on Friday.
According to Justice Ma’aji, KANSIEC is empowered by the provision of the Constitution to conduct, supervise and hold local government elections across the 44 council areas.
He maintained that any attempt to truncate the process of the conduct of the poll amounts to nullity.
