The North Carolina’s scandal-plagued Republican gubernatorial candidate is trailing far behind his Democratic rival – something Democrats hope will work to their advantage as polls show Harris and Trump locked in a tight race in the key state.

A recent New York Times-Siena College poll showed Republican Mark Robinson trailing Democrat Josh Stein by a margin of between 18 and 20 points in the race for governor.

Robinson has been hobbled by US media reports that purported to reveal his history of posting lewd and bigoted comments on pornography forums.

Report says the republican will use the development to bag all the votes in favour of them.

Meanwhile, Democrat is projected to loose support from Arab Americans voters due to Joe Biden’s support to Israel on its war with Palestine.

According to her, Samraa Luqman wants Arab Americans to be blamed if Democratic candidate Harris loses to Trump.

For too long, Democrats have taken the Arab vote for granted, and it is time for them to pay the price for the United States-backed Israeli war on Gaza and Lebanon, Luqman said.

“I will show up the next day if Harris loses, I will say: It’s because of this community, it is because of Gaza and because of the genocide, that you lost,” Luqman told Al Jazeera in her office in the Detroit suburb of Dearborn.

In another development, almost all US states allow voters to cast their ballots early, report indicate.

So far, more than 76 million people have done so, according to the University of Florida’s Election Lab.

By Election Day, more than half of US voters plan to have voted, according to a Gallup poll.

Democrats are more likely to take advantage of the early voting option than Republicans, with 63 percent of Democratic voters planning to cast their votes ahead of November 5, compared to 47 percent of Republicans, the Gallup survey showed.
