Barely weeks after the purported commissioning of Kano state Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversion center, residents of the state have expressed their disappointed over the center’s closure.
GLOBAL TRACKER recalled that center was officially commissioned on 22nd October, 2024 and was scheduled to commenced operations immediately, however the centre remained close for two weeks.
During the opening ceremony Director General Chief Executive National Automotive Design And Development Council Mr. Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin said the initiative would go along way in enhancing CNG Conversion as well as training of auto mechanics who will duell into the conversion Process.

According to her, stakeholders were trained to tackles the challenges that would be encountered during the conversion process.
However, two weeks after the commissioning, it has remained close, the development which cast doubt on the mind of Kano people.
Interviewed at the center which is located at the Gundutse community of Karfi Ward in Kura local government area, one Abdullahi Muhammad told GLOBAL TRACKER that they are unhappy with the development, urging federal government to look into the matter for prompt response.
“As you can see I traveled all the way from Kano metropolis to come here, but to my disappointment I only find the place shut, why is this place closed ?, we want answers, let them come and start working so that Kano people will enjoy it,” Abdullahi said.
He urged federal ministry of Industry, trade and investment, National Automotive, design, and development council (NADDC) and other relevant stakeholders to immediately open the center for its smooth operation and benefit of Kano residents.
