The Civil Society in Malaria Control Immunization and Nutrition (ACOMIN) has solicited the support of Rano local government council for the renovation of Kwanar Juma health post in Kwanar Juma ward of the area.
The Kano State Program Officer (SPO) of ACOMIN Malam Sharif Abubakar disclosed this in an exclusive interview with GLOBAL TRACKER correspondent in Rano, the headquarters of the local council.
According to Sharif, the health facility is in serious dilapidation state, the development which drive-away patients from the facility.

“I led our State Advocacy Team (SAT) and we visited the newly elected chairman of Rano local government area to congratulate him on his election victory, and during the visit, we brought his attention to the dilapidated condition of the Kwanar Juma Health Clinic in Kwanar Juma Ward,” said Sharif.
“We also drew his attention on the need for provision of lab technician at the Saji Health Clinic in Saji Ward,” added the SPO.
In a remark, the newly elected chairman of Rano local government area in Kano state Muhammad Naziru Yau, expressed his appreciation for ACOMIN’s efforts in addressing humanitarian issues and for complementing the government’s work by identifying problems affecting healthcare facilities and connecting them with relevant stakeholders for resolution.
Additionally, the chairman announced his plans to purchase ten (10) Keke Napep vehicles — one for each ward—to facilitate transportation of pregnant women to healthcare facilities for safe deliveries.
He informed the SAT team that he had recently met with local indigene studying health-related courses to discuss solutions for staffing shortages in any health facility across the council.
Chairman Yau assured the team that he is committed to resolving outlined issues by the end of December this year.
