OPEN LETTER TO AREWA CONSULTATIVE FORUM.
RE: AREWA CONSULTATIVE FROM SUSPENDS CHAIRMAN ( MR MAMMAN MIKE OSUMAN ,SAN)
Reference to the report on the above subject matter, by one online newspaper “NOT GLOBAL TRACKER” which was published on 21st, Nov, 2024, in regard to the announcement made by the leaders of the ACF in a statement jointly signed by Alhaji Bashir Muhammad Dalhatu (Wazirin Dutse) and Alhaji Murtala Aliyu (Matawallen Gombe), ACF board of trustees chairman and secretary general respectively.
In the report the northern socio cultural leaders ACF suspended a chairman Mr Mamnan Mike Osuman, SAN
We AREWA SCHOLARS, as pan arewa academy we have observed the faction within the ACF which emerged as a result of differences within the mantle leadership of ACF Upon the decision unilaterally taken by the suspended chairman of ACF in which he proposed that comes 2027 election that ACF will pick a northern candidate, his pronouncement resulted to his suspension as ACF chairman.
Arewa scholars, have observed with kin interest that the recently suspension of Mr Mamnan OSUMAN was purely taken out of “selfishness, bigotry” and fear of reaction from the central power.
Consequently, the leadership of ACF shouldn’t have suspended the chairman, instead they should have brought the attention of federal government to focus on the following key problems affecting northern Nigeria:
1. Northern insecurity
2. Dilapidated agricultural sector due to insecurity.
3. Out of school children which the north has the highest in the world.
4. Deteriorated healthcare.
5. Poor access road and infrastructure within northern region.
6. Unemployment of our teeming youths in the north.
7. Electricity blackout in the north.
8. Lack of of sound and genuine education.
9. Insufficient access to portable water.
The above listed changes, facing the north are the key issues need to the addressed by arewa consultative forum leaders not laying emphasis on internal differences that yield no result except wasting energy at the detriment of poor northerners.
We AREWA SCHOLARS, feavantly call on the leadership of ACF, northern traditional ruler’s, religious cleric and and all northern statement as a matter of urgency to intervent in facilitating the reinstatement of the suspended chairman of ACF Mr mamman mike Isuman SAN
These, will no longer doubt brings in peace, stability and prosperity in the northern region and Nigeria at large
