The Jigawa state police command says it as arrested 1,254 people for allegations of committing major crimes from 20th February, 2023 to date.
The state police commissioner AT. Abdullahi disclosed this while to journalist at his first end of the year media briefing held in Dutse, the state capital.
He said during the year under review, they have arrested 19 suspected kidnappers, 120 suspected Rapists and 869 suspect for commission various civil and criminal crimes.

“We have arrested eighty eight (88) Armed Robbery Suspects, Nineteen (19) Kidnap Suspects, One hundred and twenty (120) Suspected Rapists, One hundred and fifty eight (158) Suspects for Culpable Homicide, Eight hundred and sixty nine (869) suspects involved in other offences including Vandalism, Cattle Rustling/Animal theft, Drug Dealings, Theft, Motorcycle/Vehicles Theft and Frauds,” he said.
” Seventeen (17) firearms, including three (3) AK-47, One (1) Pistol, Ten (10) Dane Guns, Three (3) locally fabricated riffles, Four (4) Pump action cartridges, Fifty four (54) Rounds of Live Ammunition, Eighty two (82) Motorcycles/vehicles and Eight (8) bicycles,” he said.
Others according to the commissioner are Two hundred and seventy six (276) rustled Animals, Four hundred and eight (408) tablets of Tramadol, Six Hundred and twenty-two (622) Blocks of Dried Leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp, One thousand two hundred and seventy four (1,274) pieces of Robber Solutions, Three hundred and forty seven (347) pieces of Exol tablets, One hundred and Eighty-Three (183) pieces of suck and die, Two hundred and fifty four (254) pieces of Diazapam tablets, One hundred and six (106) pieces of D-5 tabs, Seventy three (73) Assorted Mobile Phones, Four (4) Laptops Computer and Six (6) Solar panels, Nine hundred (900) bags of cement and Seven hundred and thirty two (732) Other exhibits.
Abdullahi said they have undertaken significant Infrastructural Development projects, including general Renovation and Furnishing of the Command Headquarters and CP’s Quarter’s, thereby providing a conducive working environment for our officers and men of the command.
