The United Nations has said that at least 782 civilians has been killed while 1,100 wounded following sieger of Northern Darfur, the capital city of Sudan.
The UN in a statement by its high commissioner for human right Volker Turk said the month-long sieger by Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) led to the killing with many still missing at press time.
The El-Fasher which is the capital of the North Darfur region and home to over 2 million people have seen worse of its kind in history as the RSF continue it war with the Sudanese army.

GLOBAL TRACKER recalled that since April of last year, Sudan has been locked in a brutal conflict between the army, led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and his former deputy Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, leader of the RSF.
The Turk said “the continuing siege of El Fasher and the relentless fighting are devastating lives everyday on a massive scale.”
According to interview conducted by over 52 individuals who fled northern Darfur region said RSF has been shelling densely populated areas since May, this year.
The city has faced intense attacks for weeks.
