A passenger plane carrying 110 people operated by Azerbaijan Airlines end route to Grozny from Baku has crashed near Aktau Airport in Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan is a country located in Central Asia, bordered by Russia to the north and China to the east.
The Embraer 190 was diverted due to heavy fog before the crash.

The Kazakhstan emergency ministry said the rescue team was already on the crash site.
“A total of 52 rescuers from the Kazakh Emergencies Ministry and 11 pieces of equipment arrived at the crash site. Upon arrival, they saw the plane in flames. Firefighters are now extinguishing it.
Russian news agency “TASS” reported that the information about the injured is being clarified, but according to preliminary data there are survivors,” the statement said.
Kazakhstan, the world’s largest landlocked country, is strategically positioned between Europe and Asia.
The crash site is near the Caspian Sea, in the western region of the country.
