Suspected Lakurawa Bandits killed 4 People in Kebbi

Suspected Lakurawa bandits on Saturday afternoon invaded a construction site at Gumki village in Arewa Local Government Area of Kebbi State and killed four people including a staff of Airtel communication Nigeria Ltd that were installing a surveillance mask for the Nigeria Immigration Service.

In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Kebbi State Command, SP Nafiu Abubakar, said on receipt of the report, the state Commissioner of Police, Bello Mohammed Sani alongside with the Comptroller, Nigeria Immigration Service, Kebbi State Command, Muhammad Bashir Lawali, swiftly mobilized to the scene, evacuated the corpses to Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital, Birnin Kebbi.

The statement said the commissioner of police equally reviewed the security architecture of the area by deploying additional tactical teams and charged them to decisively deal with suspected Lakurawa bandits operating in the area.

It said Sani, also had a meeting with critical stakeholders in the area, where he appealed to them to always assist the police and other security agencies with relevant and timely information for prompt response.
