In a series of tweeted on his verified social medi handle, Khamenei said “Negotiating with the United States has no impact on solving the country’s problems.
What solves the problems is the determination of the leaders involved and the cooperation of our united nation.
“We negotiated with the United States in the 2010s, resulting in an agreement. The person currently in power in the United States broke it. Before him, those with whom the agreement was concluded did not respect it. He was supposed to lift the sanctions; they were not!
“It is neither sensible, nor intelligent, nor honorable to negotiate with a government like that of the United States.
“We should not negotiate with a government like that of the United States.
Donald Trump suggested earlier this week that he plans to raise the pressure on Iran and then reach a “verified nuclear peace agreement”.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran on Friday also condemned the sanctions, announced the previous day, as “illegitimate and unlawful.”
