Kano Information Commissioner Engages with Political Activist to Promote Clean Politics

In a bid to promote clean politics free from deparmatory comments, the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has held a special meeting with political activists in the media sector to promote the use of respectful and constructive language in political discussions.

In a statement by director, special duties Kano state ministory of information and internal affairs Sani Abba Yola, Waiya stated that the initiative aims to foster responsible public enlightenment and ensure that leaders are addressed with decorum when tackling societal challenges.

During the meeting, Waiya expressed his delight at seeing representatives from different political parties in attendance.

He described their presence as a clear demonstration of their patriotism and commitment to the progress of Kano State.

Emphasizing the importance of political opposition, Waiya noted that while political differences are natural, they should be expressed in a clean and respectful manner, free from insults, personal attacks, or hostility.

As part of his commitment to promoting responsible political engagement, the Commissioner reaffirmed his plans to revive the Gauta Club, a platform that previously facilitated well-structured and mature political discussions on the radio.

He highlighted that Gauta Club played a crucial role in fostering healthy political debates, where members engaged in issue-based discourse with mutual respect, regardless of party affiliations.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of Gauta Club in Kano State, Alhaji Hamisu Danwawu Fagge commended the Commissioner for convening the meeting without regard to political differences. He described the initiative as a clear sign of Waiya’s dedication to the unity and progress of Kano State.

Danwawu further pledged the support of Gauta Club in ensuring a positive and progressive political atmosphere that prioritizes development over division.
