President Tinubu Appoints Brigadier General Kunle Nafiu as New NYSC DG

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the appointment of Kunle Nafiu as the new Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The decision, which takes immediate effect, underscores the administration’s commitment to revitalizing the NYSC and enhancing its role in national development.

Kunle Nafiu, a seasoned administrator with a track record of excellence in public service, is expected to bring fresh perspectives and innovative strategies to the NYSC.

His appointment comes at a critical time when the scheme is being repositioned to address contemporary challenges and better serve Nigerian youths.

In a brief statement, the Presidency expressed confidence in Nafiu’s ability to lead the NYSC with integrity and vision, ensuring that the program continues to foster unity, skill development, and national cohesion among young Nigerians.

This appointment has been widely welcomed by stakeholders, who see it as a step toward strengthening the NYSC’s impact on the nation’s socio-economic landscape.

The new NYSC DG hails from Ileogbo, Aiyedire Local Government Area of Osun State.

Nafiu, whose appointment is immediately effective, replaces Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed.
