The Committee set aside by the executive governor of Kano state Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf on the revival of the Kwankwasiyya and Amana Cities, has commenced occupancy verification at the Kwankwasiyya city housing estate.
“Immediately after we finish Kwankwasiyya city, we will soon move to AMANA city respectively,” the chairman of the committee comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya disclosed this in a statement sent to GLOBAL TRACKER.
According to the statement, the development is in line with the three months ultimatum given to property owners at both cities to occupy their houses or risk revocation by the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The chairman who double as state commissioner of information and internal affairs said this is coming as the committee on embarked on the physical exercise at the two cities, as part of the mandate to ensure total revival of the Kwankwasiyya and Amana cities, within the shortest possible time.
The chairman said survey officials have been deployed and have since commenced physical verification of the houses to ascertain the level of completion and occupancy status of the houses among other information that will assist the government in enforcing the governor’s marching order on the property owners.
“In furtherance of his Excellency avowed commitment to making the Kwankwasiyya and AMANA cities habitable and comfortable for residents, the governor has fully renovated and made the governor’s lodge situated at the Kwankwasiyya city functional, by providing all the necessary infrastructure and other accessories to make a living more meaningful,” said Waiya.
“Kwankwasiyya and AMANA Cities, are expected to expand rapidly with adequate development facilities, and the government is determined to ensure strict compliance of the project as envisioned by the initiator, His Excellency, Engineer Dr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso,” it further said.
The State Government has since invested in the expansion of the Kwankwasiyya City projects, with the goal of setting a new standard for a sustainable development that aligns with global urbanization and long-term sustainability.
While the Governor has taken proactive measures to ensure that, Government continue its development work, to ensure that all the needed infrastructure are not only provided or maintained, but further enhanced.
It added that the Special Committee is determined to work round the clock to ensure proper utilization of this wonderful facility.
