The Executive governor of Kano state Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved the appointment of Mustapha Muhammad as his chief press secretary and official deputy spokesman.
A veteran journalist with over two decades of experience, Mustapha served as senior broadcaster at the British Broadcasting Cooperation (BBC).
Also, the governor okays the appointment of Zulaihat Yusuf Aji as deputy managing director of Radio Kano, while Architect Hauwa Hassan Tudun Wada has been appointed as the new managing director of Kano state Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA).

Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the director general media and publicity disclosed this in a statement sent to journalist last night.
According to the statement, all the appointment takes immediate effects.
The statement reads in parts ” Architect Hauwa is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects and the Vice Chairperson of Female Architects in Nigeria.
Before this appointment, she served as a Professional Architect at the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).
Hauwa holds ND, HND, BSc, and MSc degrees in Architecture from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, and is among the first female architects from Kano to excel in the profession.
Mustapha Muhammad holds BSc and MSc degrees in Mass Communication and is currently pursuing a PhD in the same field.
In his new role, he is expected to work under the Director General, Media and Publicity to support media engagement and communication strategies for the present administration.
Zulaihat Yusuf Aji before her new appointment, she served as Senior Special Assistant on Broadcast (1) at the Media and Public Relations Directorate, Government House.
A seasoned journalist, Aji previously worked with Freedom Radio Kano, where she built a career spanning over a decade.
Auwal Lawan Aramposu has been appointed as the Deputy Managing Director of the Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA).
He was the immediate past Chairman of Nasarawa Local Government and had previously served as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on ICT to a former Kano State governor.
Dr. Tukur Dayyabu Minjibir has been appointed as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture.
He is a former Managing Director of Kano Agricultural Supply Company and a Senior Lecturer at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.
Dr. Minjibir holds a PhD in Agricultural Engineering, with a specialization in agricultural mechanization.
Engineer Abduljabbar Nanono has been elevated to Deputy Managing Director of KHEDCO.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Renewable Energy and previously served as Senior Special Assistant on Renewable Energy.
While congratulating the new appointees, the governor assured them of his immense support and urged them to work diligently in their respective roles to contribute to the development of Kano State.
