Kano Commissioner for Internal Security Resigns

The Kano state commissioner for internal security services Major General Muhammad Inuwa Idris (Rtd) has resigned his appointment.

Mr. Idris, was appointed and sworn in as the pioneer commissioner of the ministry in August 2024.

His resignation follows that of Mohammed Diggol, the state commissioner for Project Monitoring and Evaluation, who stepped down on January 5, 2025.

Meanwhile, the executive governor of Kano State Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has accepted the resignation of the Commissioner.

In a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor expressed his deep gratitude to the retired Army General for his service to the state within his short tenure, acknowledging his contributions to initial take-off of the ministry.

Governor Yusuf also extended his best wishes to the former commissioner, describing him as a dedicated public servant and a patriotic Nigerian.
