In his efforts to transparency and accountability especially in the management of public funds, the executive governor of Katsina state Alhaji Dikko Umar Radda has sworn-in the newly elected 34 local government chairmen.
Addressing the chairmen shortly after taking orth of office at Karakanda stadium in Katsina, Radda urged them to be trust worthy.
Radda said the state government will provide all the necessary support that will enable them to deliver and urged them to center on three key areas which to include education, youth empowerment and Agriculture.

According to him, state government has introduced a new unit in the Department of local government inspectorate to checkmate the activities of local governments throughout the state as the Governor assured to give them all the support they may require.
In his remark, the APC national Chairman Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje commended the effort of Governor Dikko Umar Radda for conducting free, fair, acceptable and credible election across the 34 local government areas of the state.
He also charge the newly elected and sworn in local government Chairmen to fear Almighty God in the discharge of their primary responsibilities and in accordance with the law fifteen of local government as armendment in 2017 constitution.
Ganduje also called on them to ensure that they provide devident of democracy to the electorate as well as to move the party forward by giving maximum support and cooperation to the Governor and the party from national to local levels.
In an interview, the Chairman of Dutsinma local government council Alhaji Kabir Abdulsalam Shema assured to govern an open door policy and to everyone in the discharge of their governance.
He also solicit the support and cooperation from the general public as well as prayers to enable them to shoulder the responsibilities bestowed on them by executing meaningful projects that have direct impact on the common man.
Highlights of the event was the taking oath of office and that of allegiance by the state chief judge, Justice Musa Danladi and presentation of official vehicles to each of the 34 local government council Chairmen.
