Sycophancy, Unfaithfulness Bedeviling Nigeria’s Security Architecture — Ishaya Bamaiyi

Sycophancy and Unfaithfulness remained one of the problem bedeviling the security circle and are the key issues hindering the bringing to an end the security challenge in the Nigeria.

The former Chief of Army Staff, Rtd. General Ishaya Bamaiyi disclosed this in an interview with GLOBAL TRACKER correspondent in Birnin Kebbi.

According to Bamaiyi, government officials was involved in handling security instead of security personnel.

“For me if I’m to say very frank I think within two months if the government is sincere and ready to fought to the door, we have the military that can do it but they only get orders on Television. No military officer can take orders on Television, is all politics,” he said.

On the security situation of Kebbi State, General Bamaiyi, said it was not handle very well saying, any security issue has to be at the governor’s office being the governor as the chief security officer.

“You don’t put security and civil service protocol together no. “I think what is in Kebbi is not right and I have been trying to see the governor and advise him, unfortunately we never see one on one, so you can’t conbine security with civil service protocol.

He said security is not something that will be waiting for to go through civil service protocol thereby things will go wrong.

While commending the Kebbi State government under the leadership of comrade Nasir Idris for developing the state in terms of infrastructure, General Bamaiyi, urged the government to focus more on security as the state is bordering two countries.
